    congrats!!

just went over and read your column--it's really great! i could use some fashion rules myself :) i'm challenging myself this summer to wear more things with colour (i usually wear black, gray, navy).

keeping my fingers crossed that you get to do this kind of work more often! (and i sent in an e-mail to help the cause)

    have a great weekend!

i am doing pretty well, by the way, since i never answered you last time. :) i have been giving more thought to writing lately, too (besides the blog). you don't still have a writing group going, do you?

    Denise-

I have always loved your stuff and sent an email as a misplaced frequent Sentinel reader who gives you his full recommendation.

    Thanks, Benjamin :)
    You are a sweetie.

Val--no, but I want to start one! I used to be in a group (that I paid to be in) where we would meet for a half an hour, the leader would give a "prompt" and we would just write, whatever genre we wanted. I loved it-it got me into writing fiction for the first time. Then you read to each other and give positive feedback. The limited time and the positive nature and structure make it really easy and accessible. I would loooove to do something like that, maybe once a month Sat. morning? Or another morning, but that would limit who could come. What do you think?
It could be a different format. We could just bring stuff we're working on...

i'll think on it -- like if i'm really up for the feedback yet. :) but i like the idea of bringing what you're working on. i guess it would be nice to get some idea of whether my stuff is even remotely close to being good, and to help keep motivated. maybe i should work on it a bit more first, though. i recently picked up The Artist's Way at a used book sale and i'm hoping that will inspire me...

email me if the idea goes further!

I love the artist's way--it changed my life completely. I'll definitely be in touch. Are you still thinking about children's lit, or what are you writing?

Oh yeah, and Sheetal, I forgot to say before, but I still remember your dress from our senior year prom as one of the most beautiful I've ever seen (thought of that when discussing fashion)
